NOTW: Mango Madness

I love to switch my NOTW's between natural and bright colors.
Since I had me some nude nails last week, I like to share my fun bright NOTW today with you girls.
ELF - Mango Madness

I've never hidden my love for coral, so I just had to try out a coral polish by ELF.

The brand ELF might be cheap, but that doesn't take away the quality from this varnish.
Admitting that light colors may need a few more coats, but richer colors will only require 1 coat.

I bought the ones with the improved formula, so I can't compare it with the old versions. But one thing is for sure, I'm loving me some ELF!

Although it looks more orange in the bottle and it looks more bright in the picture, but it's less in-your-face in real life. A beautiful coral color to slap on the nails during the warmer months.

A beautiful color that takes me back to the summer time for a week :)

NOTW: Fruit Drink #3

Yes, another NOTW is coming your way! :)

This week I went for my well trusty coral polish, surprise surprise. And although this is a Korean brand, my friend got me this polish when she went to California.

Skin Food Fruit Drink #3
Another coral polish to add to my collection, but I guess you can never have too much corals. Very pretty nonetheless.
The Skin Food polishes apply very smooth. You can get away with just one coat, but I went for 2 anyway, just to make sure :)

Since my friend got me this polish, I have no idea how much this costs. Should I get the opportunity to buy Skin Food's polishes, I'm sure I'll be snatching a few of them.

NOTW Naked Pink

And I'm back with another NOTW!
This week I've been rocking Naked Pink, which is perfect for summer!
NYX - Naked Pink
Unfortunately the picture doesn't do the nail polish color justice. It's a real bright, in your face, kind of color. Since this does apply a little bit sheer, I did have to put on 3 coats for it to look like the color in the bottle. For the money I spent on this nail polish (which was practically nothing), I don't mind putting on several coats. Luckily my Sally Hansen's top coat makes the polish procedure a lot faster!

It's a very fun color to put on your nails and will look great with pretty much every outfit in the summer. A bright polish that truly screams SUMMER! :)

NOTW: 808

Hellooooo everyone!

Guess what day it is? Yup, mani day!!

This week I put some 808 by a Belgian drugstore brand called HEMA. It's a baby pink color, gorgeous I tell ya, GOR-GEOUS! :)

If you look at it clearly, I put a sticker on my ring finger. (Combining 2 trend in one mani? BAM!)
As I can't hide my love from people wearing glasses (love nerdy looks!), I decided to one of my finger. I'm making the nerd in me coming out haha!

I already mentioned I like HEMA's polishes; they're cheap, have a good variety in colors, have a creamy texture and are quite longlasting. What more do you want from a nail polish?

After rocking the strawberry look, I decided to keep it more subtle but still have something special...

Hope you all like this look! Tell me, what do your funky nail looks like?

NOTW: strawberry

Hi beauty lovers!

Time for another NOTW!
This week I experimented abit and came up with the following look:

You're probably wondering how I got the idea of drawing strawberries on my nails...

It all started with me borrowing Bourjois So Lacque Glossy Nail Lacquer in 04 Amande. It's a mint green which is almost pistachio-like. The polish is quite creamy and glossy, and I must say that this isn't a bad drugstore polish at all.

I planned on doing an altered french manicure, but with green tips. Weird? No worries, I shared the same thoughts :)

Afterward I added some coral (Catrice's CO2 Walk On Air) to make it less boring.

After looking at my coral nails with green tips, it made me think of strawberries, hence the black dots.

Honestly, this kind of mani's aren't my cup of tea. I just like experimenting and then take it off to put a more subtle color on the nails.

If you like these kidn of mani's, let me know and just maybe, I'll do more creative mani's! :)

Blush away!

Hi everyone!

I don't know about you guys, but during fall and winter time I just love using my blushes!
Recently I bought myself a NYX blush, and I must say: this one's goooorgeous!

I try to do some research on a certain product before I go out and buy it. If there's about 1/3 negative reviews on it, I won't buy it.

I've probably read a ton of reviews and seen youtubers reviewing and raving about this blush over and over again.

And yes, I gave in.

Here's Pinched by NYX:

Great thing about this?
It's affordable and you get 5,2g in a little pot. Hold it! You're probably thinking: 5,2g (0,18 oz)? That's nothing! Believe you me that you only need the smallest amount of blush, because it's very pigmented :)
NYX: Pinched

This is a a rosy-corally blush with a pretty sheen to it.

My most used blushes are:

Melba, Pinched and Coralista :)

MAC: Melba - NYX: Pinched

MAC's Melba is a light pink orangy color, which is more of a summer blush for me. Tap it lightly with your brush and that'll be more than enough to put on the (hollow of the) cheeks.

NYX: Pinched - Benefit: Coralista

Benefit's Coralista is like an all year round blush. No matter what season it is, I think this blush looks good.

It's a very light blush that you can easily build up for a more heavily made up look. I prefer to use a light hand on this, so it looks more natural like you just ran out the door.

A side note: it's just one of those colors that would look great on every skin tone.

Here's a swatch of every blush mentioned above:
Benefit - NYX - MAC
From left to right:
Coralista by Benefit: a baby pink with microshimmers (good to know: I've had my Coralista for a few years now, and I haven't hit pan yet! Score!)
Pinched by NYX: a coral shimmery color
Melba by MAC: a mat pink/orange color

I have some other blushes put away in my beauty case, because I just keep on reaching for one of these blushes.

I always wanted to try out Deep Throat by NARS, because NARS is the queen in blushes :) But I've put myself up to the task to use an entire blush before I go out and splurge money on a NARS blush. Beam me up!

Maybe I'll do a blog post on my entire blush collection :)
Would that be interesting?
And what is your favorite blush by the way?

NOTDs

Summer has passed by like nothing, leafs are changing colors and it's getting colder outside. Know what that means? Time to adjust polish to the season :)

Lately I've been into hot pinks, dark pinks, baby pink... in a nutshell: any pink polish have been my nails' best friend.

Here are some NOTDs:
Bourjois - Fuchsia Bucolique
1st up, Bourjois!
They've released gel formula polishes, and since I've heard god things about gel polishes, I wanted to try these since they're drugstores versions (yay, for lower price!)
This hot pink is actually quite good. It claims to dry up in 1 second. I wouldn't say 1 second, but it does dry quite fast, I must admit. Ow, and by the way, 1 coat is definitely enough :) I like!

Bourjois - Coral Magique
Another Bourjois gel formula polish. I don't really like this one for one particular reason: it's got gold shimmers in it. I'm not the shimmer kind of girl and I prefer my polishes opaquer as opaque :) It's a coral polish (and you all know I love my corals), but due to the shimmers in it I'm not  a big fan of this one. A shame, because it's the same formula as the polish mentioned above.
HEMA
Another polish from a local Belgian drugstore. It's hot pink polish, that needs 2 coats but has a beautiful opaque color. It's cheap, lovely color and stays on quite long. Right on!

OPI
If this isn't hot pink, I don't know what is! It's a gorgeous hot pink color from OPI, gifted by my friend. 1 coats does the job and stayed upto 5 days, muchos likos! :)

Nail polish gift haul

A friend of mine gifted me a few nail polishes because she's totally awesome :)
So let's jump right into it:
Deborah Lippmann - Daytripper

I'll start of with my very first Deborah Lipmann polish ever. I've seen this polish passing in a lot of Youtube beauty video's and thought this color was gorgeous! It's a bright pink that can bright up your outfit in an instant!

It's a creamy polish with an opaque finish to it. Love, love, LOVE it!

Then second of all, I got this one as well:
Ciaté - Halo

This is a holographic polish. I'm afraid the camera isn't doing the polish justice. If you have (seen) this, you'll know it has a beautiful shimmery purple, pink hint to it. I must say you have to be careful when applying this, because if you put too much on your brush before applying, it'll leave green patches on your nail (shows where the shimmers are concentrated). It's not easy to evenly distribute the shimmers without the green patches, but hey... it does says holographic polish, right? :p

Chanel - Protective base coat

Then last but not least, she gifted me a Chanel base coat as well. We both read some good reviews on it and we were dying to try it out. Luckily the drugstore were putting these on sale, woot woot! I must say, it's a bit pricey for just a base coat, but darn it ... it is gooooooood! As most base coats they dry quite fast and make a good primer. It's a good product, but not sure whether I'll be purchasing it as soon as I finish this bottle, since it's a bit overpriced for a base coat, even if it's Chanel!

Anyway, I got to add these 3 high end polishes to my collection thanks to my awesome friend. A great gift, especially for doing a polish haul :p
