Review: Maybelline Pure Mineral concealer and Shu Uemura Point Cealer

As you already know I went to HK and I had a hard time controlling myself from buying everything in the Asian drugstores :) As promised I'd review some of the things, first up: liquid concealers!

I got myself a drugstore and a high end one, namely a Maybelline and a Shu Uemura one.

The Maybelline concealer comes in 2 shades: light and medium. The little tube contains 5.5ml and comes with a built-in brush.
After seeing some of the Youtubers using this I thought I'd give it a try. I think this is one of the better drugstore concealers out there. I think it's convenient because of its size, the coverage is good, it's cheap and I like the yellow undertone of it. It can look a little bit cakey if you apply too much product, so always start off with the tiniest amount you can get.

Then we have our high end concealer: the Shu Uemura concealer which comes in 4 shades. It contains 2.8ml (half the Maybelline one!) and it's the kind you have to twist to let the product come out, so bye bye hygiene!
First of all I don't like the applicator, would have appreciated a brush type for the least. This twist kind of pen makes it difficult to control the amount you need, because it'll continue leaking out a little bit of product after you stopped twisting it. The remainder will dry on the applicator and get wasted, which is a bit of a shame if you pay that much for a concealer if you ask me.

On the other hand a little goes a long way, so I suggest you twist just a little bit at a time so you don't have to waste too much product. It reduces the discoloration on my face such as redness or dark circles, so it does the job a concealer has to do: exactly...conceal :) Oh, and have I mentioned that this product is TINY? Great for the travelers among us!

Overall, I like them. I like the consistency and they're easy to blend. Don't use too much and you'll go a long way with both concealers. Best thing is to use a staying powder on the concealer, so it'll last much longer. I will definitely repurchase the Maybelline concealer again. Something I'm not sure I can say about the Shu Uemura one. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good concealer, I just really dislike the applicator. Change the applicator, and we have my HG concealer!

Maybelline baby lips

Waaaaay before I started using make up, I was hooked on lip balms. I tried every brand: from drugstore lip balms to Rosebuds. Somehow I lost a bunch of my lip balms, but here's a tiny part of my collection :)

As soon as I found out Maybelline launched baby lips lip balms I just had to try them, but surprise surprise...they aren't available in Europe. I was happy.. no ecstatic!! to see Mannings selling the lip balms I wanted. I did notice that they're different than those from the States, but I think they do the job just as well as the American version.

These lip balms are very hydrating. As said before, they do differ than those you can get at the States. The packaging is different, they're all translucent, but the scent is just as good!
Let's just say I'm glad I bought back ups of these babies!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Lately everybody's been raving about the Bioderma Sensibio cleanser, but is it worth the rave?

100ml - 500ml

This Bioderma cleanser is available in 3 bottle sizes: 100ml, 250ml and 500ml. I got the little one from a store called iU and the big one from Sasa.

It says on the label that it's for sensitive skin, but since it's been good to my combination skin I'll stick to this one for now. There are Sensibio cleansers for combination skin as well which have the green cap and the blue bottle.

This cleanser is water based, yet it removes most make up from eyes, face and lips. It doesn't contain any oils, so it won't leave any greasy residue on your face after wiping your make up off.
They mention on their website that it removes water-resistant make-up. I have noticed that this can remove some of my waterproof make up as well, although I don't recommend you keep on rubbing your eyes 'till the make up comes off.

I mostly remove my make up before using the Bioderma. I use this as a second cleanser to make sure my face is squeaky clean.

So again, is it worth the rave? Yes, I think it is! You get a good amount of product for a rather cheap price, it does the job and it doesn't break me out. Will repurchase this, although I'm sure the big bottle will definitely last me a long time!

Intro

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first post!
I finally gave in and started my own blog. I'm hoping to share my passion for make up with you guys. I have to admit I haven't been experimenting with make up for a very long time... Just been following beauty guru's on the internet, which has pushed me into the direction of starting this blog.

Anyway.. enough said! Let's sit back, relax and get this online party started!
